More Fiber Please?

Eat fiber to lose weight!

A lot of people don't know that one of the best benefits of eating fiber is that it causes your body to produce less insulin when you eat carbohydrates. Insulin is produced anytime you ingest carbohydrates, and the more insulin that is produced, the greater the chance that your body will store some of those carbohydrates as bodyfat. In order to maximize your body's ability to store carbohydrates as energy - NOT as bodyfat - you should consume some form of fiber every single time you consume carbohydrates. Fiber dampens your body's insulin response, which significantly lessens the chances of those carbohydrates that you love so much ending up in bodyfat storage!

Barack Obama Workout

Barack Obama Workout

It goes without saying that Senator Obama is in good physical condition. 18 months of campaigning and the creme rises to the top. You must be in good mental and physical condition to accomplish what Barack Obama did. I discovered that a man in his position has very little time to workout, but understands the importance of being physically fit, so I put together a 12 minute workout plan for the senator that can be done anywhere, anytime. Why don't you give it a try and see if you got what it takes to win?

Here you go Barack:

Push-ups- 1minute

Squats- 1minute

Jumping Jacks- 1minute

Burpees- 1minute

BREAK- 1minute

Repeat Circuit- 4minutes

Plank Bridge- 1minute

Cool-Down/Stretch- 2minutes

9 mins of hell, 1 min to count your blessings, 2 mins of restoration= 12 min victory!

P.S. Barack is going to be a hell of a president or a lean mean senator when he is done with this program, oops I meant campaign.. Let me know how you did with Barack's workout.... Coming soon! Senator McCain Workout....

Get Your Mind Right!!

Get Your Mind Right!!

The Number One Mental Barrier and How to Destroy It...NOW!

That Little Voice in Your Head
Yeah, I have one too. So don’t think you are crazy. Now you can finally tell other people because everyone has one. That little voice believe it or not will either make you or break you. Arnold Schwarzenegger once said, “It is always the mind that fails first; not the body.” It’s true. In order for you to ensure success and identify negative habits it is vital for you to understand the following passage.

Your thoughts create your feelings.
The way you feel creates your actions.
Your actions produce a certain result.
Thoughts = Feelings = actions= Results

For instance, if that little voice is consistently saying, “Hey, you’re fat. Just face it. You can’t stick to it. Why go through all that work when you know you will just gain it back.” Those comments will create feelings of low self-esteem, failure, a lack of confidence and you will associate pain with making that positive change. Those feelings will cripple your actions. Instead of eating foods that would support your fat loss as the “fat person” that you think you are you make the choices that a “fat person” would make. As a result of those actions, your thoughts become reality. You become that “fat person.” You continue to gain fat, drain your body of energy, and feel sluggish and depressed. This is important to understand because I see this in people who are fit as well as people who are not. Have you ever met someone who thinks they are fat and is healthy and looks great? Are these people really happy? Are they enjoying life like they want? They can be, once they understand their patterns of thought.

You may be expecting a complex solution to re-programming your little voice. Don’t worry; I am not nearly that sophisticated to make up big words for simple things. If you want to take control of your thoughts you must become aware of your self-talk. It is that simple. When negative self- talk enters your mind interrupt it by saying something positive and empowering. For example, if you think, “I hate working out.” You can either continue to think this way and experience second after second of an agonizing workout or you can modify your mindset to enjoy the ride. Once that negative thought creeps in immediately interrupt it by thinking what you love about the gym or what you love about working out.
Think about a moment when you had a great time at the gym or just working out.
Think about what you will look like when you are living in the body you desire.

What will you feel like?
What kind of compliments will you receive?
Who will you attract?
What will you say to yourself when you see your beautiful reflection in the mirror with your new lean, chiseled body staring back at you?

Another tool for success…
Some people benefit immensely from writing their thoughts and feelings in a journal. The key difference between a “corny” diary and a success journal is:
1. A “corny” diary is all about how life has cheated you and how you are a victim of circumstance. Boo-hoo.
2. A success journal is about being aware of obstacles, learning from mistakes and successes alike. It contains documentation of how you overcame challenges and how you felt in those moments of despair and in those moments of joy, triumph and ecstasy.
As Plato stated, “A life unexamined is not worth living.”
A success journal is a great tool in your arsenal for overcoming that little voice and conditioning it to aid you in achieving your goals.
